Heavenly Baking’s Muesli Flapjacks

Friday is, in my eyes, the best day to bake. You have the weekend ahead of you to you let your friends and family taste your newly made treats,  if anything goes wrong you have a couple of days to perfect them, before the school lunches need tasty additions on Monday, or work colleagues pester you for more of your freshly baked treats.

So here is my addition to Friday food blogging, or as I have been reliably informed it is a ‘flog‘.

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 160C / Fan 140o C/ Gas Mark 3. Grease a 12 x 9 in roasting tin or traybake (do not use a loose bottomed tin).
  2. Melt the butter, sugars and syrup  in a large pan, once all melted stir in the muesli and oats. You can add an extra 25g of raisins if you like a lot if fruit in your flapjacks.
  3. Mix well and then pour into the prepared tin and press flat with the back of a spoon.
  4. Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes or until pale golden brown. Be sure to take them out before the edges darken in colour or they will be exceptionally chewy. Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Score into squares (the size is up to you, I tend to make smaller ones for snacks) and leave to finish cooling in the tin.

Hope you enjoy making these tempting treats, next weeks recipe should be fun and equally messy. Let me know how you get on.

Happy baking.

Eryn
