About Heavenly Baking

I,  like my wonderful mother, like to have my fingers in a lot of pies. No I don’t mean literally, however that may be something to aim for. I love animals, love cooking, love music and love family life.  For the last 5 years my main career has focused on animals, working with and training dogs specifically. However over the last 12 – 18  months my life changed dramatically and now I feel more than ever the necessity to do more than just one of the thing that I love. Now I want to have a balanced life incorporating all the things I love.

It has taken me this time to get my head together and apply myself to the next chapter in my life. I want to be able to check the boxes next to all the things I love off of my imaginary to do list for my life, to make sure I keep a balance between them all. Maybe the only way to explain why and how I have come to this decision is to map the time line of my life for the last 12 months ish

2011

January – Met the Man Of My Dreams. (Love of music – Check. The man of my dreams is a very talented musician  & song writer).

April – Left the company I had directed for 4 years working with animals Little Angels Pet Services to work for a big corporate estate agency in the effort to ease the worry my mother had in regards to me being self employed in a recession.

July – Got engaged to above mentioned Man Of My Dreams.

Beginning of October – My mother passed away suddenly.

End of October – Exactly 7 days to the hour after my mothers funeral I got married, going ahead with all the plans my mother had helped my dream man and I organise for our perfect wedding. No-one considered that my mother wouldn’t be with us for it.

December 1st – After a long time of leave from work any way, I left the corporate job and focused on my family life. (Love for my family – Check, life will never be the same but together we can help each other through it).

2012

June – Start training dogs again, this time in South London with my new company Believe in Magic Pet Services. (Love of animals – Check, it is good to be around animals weekly again).

August – Finally address my longer term aspirations to bake professionally from home as an additional career.

September – Start Heavenly Baking blog to record progress as I embark on checking the final box on my list cooking, specifically baking.

So this is where I start my blog.

I am going to use this blog to keep a record of the stages I have to go through to become a professional baker from my home, in the hope that it will help others who are also considering doing this. I will throw in some recipes for good measure, both tried and tested favourites and my very own take on some old traditional ones.  Each month I will upload some step by step guides to recipes to help you achieve your own baking success. Including a sprinkling of tips of the trade and a dash of technical suggestion from generations before me which I’ve  come to find invaluable.  I will keep you posted on my progress in my quest to become a Professional Home Baker along the way.

I hope you enjoy my updates please do feel free to comment and share this with your friends.

Wish me luck.
